Mid-March Cold Front

That scene is actually from the Texas panhandle, and it goes to show how big this state is, one supposes. The cold front started blowing through here last night, but it's nothing like that.
This morning, Monk and Little Bear go out into a wet February-ish morning. When Tree gets up, Monk suggests taking advantage of this rainy spell to fertilize the front, but he says that the ground must be dry when applying the fertilizer. So much for getting it all out of the way at once!
Before heading out for his rounds, Simple Tree remarks that he liked the warm weather we were experiencing and how he hates this cold. Monk knows that Stormy Dreamer would have been of a different mind - mother and son like a little chill in their air, she for sleeping and he for reading.
