The New May
You know you are losing
that fresh, cool feeling
of winter and early spring
when you want to kiss Jesus's feet
for these strong evening breezes
that still blow a little cool air
after these dry days that smack too much of summer.
And it is only March.
I have a theory about global warming:
April is the new May.
But I'm afraid Father will insist on the old calendar
wherein May is May
and no air-conditioner until then.
