Grocery Day

Grocery day. As we were leaving H.E.B., Pop pointed out how they have curbside delivery. I'm not sure what that means, but I said, "I wouldn't mind home delivery." He surprised me when he said they used to have that in Shiner (as depicted in "I Spit on Your Grave", I imagine, the Camille Keaton one). He had a childhood memory. He said, with real feeling, that their dog hated one delivery guy in particular. The dog was fine with everybody else, including other delivery guys, but when this one guy came, the dog always went wild and fierce. I wish I could have the visual on his memory. Of course, it makes me nervous when the old man has these sudden deep childhood memories. In movies and novels it always signifies death.

Old Pigshit leaves me a message linking me to his Elvis post. He still doesn't want to let go of my audience-participation. I tried to say goodbye by commenting, in part,"It was an interesting phase, dude, but I won't be swinging LJ-way. My old gang left me years ago, and in truth it was over for me then. I was just too stubborn to let go. Happy blogging!"

I doubt I will ever have even an e-friend again. Maybe I should have hung on, but one blogging pal doesn't make it a party, and it sure doesn't help when he is a racist and an anti-semite. Hmm, I wonder what it is about me...

One of the funny things about this, I just recently broke 100 friends on LJ. I have 101 to be exact. I remember back in the old days I kind of longed to do that, like Sugar and them. They all would have over a hundred friends when I was struggling to stay above 30. I thought I was pretty cool too and should have more. So deluded. Of course, there is not one real friend among those 101 names. I really crapped out in life.

Man, I know I am not Elvis, but I didn't think I was this bad.
